Welcome to Hey! Clay, a delightful art cafe nestled in the serene coastal community of Chintsa, South Africa. This charming spot offers more than just food; it's a creative haven where culinary delights blend seamlessly with artistic expression.

At Hey! Clay, the culinary experience is as diverse as the pottery options available. The menu is a medley of flavors, crafted to satisfy all palates. Meat lovers will relish the perfectly grilled Rump Steak, prepared just the way you like it, with bespoke toppings like Cowboy Butter that melt deliciously into the steak's surface. For a surf 'n turf treat, try the Rump topped with succulent Queen Prawns, drizzled in a fragrant herb butter sauce — a dish that promises a burst of taste with every bite.

Not to be missed, the Saucy Rump is a crowd favorite, lavishly smothered in creamy mushroom or cheese sauce, ensuring a rich and satisfying meal. If you're feeling adventurous, opt for the Rump Escargot, skillfully topped with snails and a secret sauce that elevates this dish to gourmet status.

For those leaning towards lighter fare, the chicken options are equally appealing. The Chicken Schnitzel, crumbed and fried to a golden perfection, can be paired with a delightful cheese or mushroom sauce, while the juicy grilled chicken breast, enhanced with herb butter, stands as a healthy yet delicious choice. Seafood enthusiasts will find solace in offerings such as Beer Battered Hake and tender Calamari, both dishes expertly fried to golden-brown perfection and rich in flavor.

The inviting atmosphere at Hey! Clay is as soothing as the food is delectable. With lovely outdoor seating surrounded by nature, diners can enjoy their meals in a peaceful setting that truly enhances the dining experience. You'll feel that creativity flows all around you, making it an ideal spot for families, friends, or anyone looking to unwind.

Food was nice and freshly prepared, only draw back was that no cream or ice cream was served with the waffle. Good service and peaceful atmosphere.

I had a super fun time painting pottery. There is lovely outside seating with a reasonably priced menu and large portions. There are some vegetarian options. There's a range of pottery to choose from and you get to use all the colors available. There are also stencils and stickers to use. The staff were very friendly. Service is a little bit slow but that suits the relaxed environment. I would definitely go back, and recommend for anyone looking for something a little different to do. The espresso based drinks are made using pod coffees. Personally I prefer barista made espresso based coffees, but this is not a draw back for most people.

A lovely activity in a beautiful setting. We all felt like magicians when our pieces were fired. Highly recommended for all levels of skill.

We took our kids (under 6yo) for a paint and sip (milkshake). While the atmosphere is very relaxed the painting kits are well organized and instructions easy to follow. We had loads of messy fun - the kids can’t wait to see what their pieces look like.

Such a cosy little spot outside. We took part in painting the items we chose. Lovely lady, forgot her name now, came to explain how everything works. We had an absolute blast of a time. We ordered food from The Deli, they share the outside space with Hey Clay, so it's right there and convenient. We ordered milkshakes, pizza and wraps, food was yummy.
